Act for Peace supports prosthetic limb programs in Burma.
Mu’Kpaw is a farmer who stepped on a mine in 1986 and has just been fitted with a new prosthetic leg. It has a special “farmer-foot”, which is more stable and thus more suitable for cultivating muddy rice fields, climbing steep inclines or even for fleeing the violence of the civil war.
“It is very good for me. If I had to get it from a hospital in Burma, it will cost a lot of money, and on top of that, there will be a lot of questions about the incident, which are best avoided in Burma today.”- Mu’Kpaw, Burma.
