FAQ

1. What do I receive?
When you purchase a Gift for Peace, you will receive a gift card in the mail, ready to hang on a Christmas tree, attach as a card to a box of chocolates, or simply give as it is in its own stylish red envelope. The cards are larger than an ordinary gift tag, about 22 x 11 cm.

2. How does it work?
The money we receive for each gift goes to support our long-term projects around the world where we supply the kind of gift you purchased. For example, if you purchase a Rain Gauge, the money goes towards the programs where we provide farming support and training, including farming tools such as rain gauges — in this case, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia. The country programs that each gift supports are written on the back of each card.

3. How long until my card arrives?
Please allow two weeks for delivery of your card.

4. How can I order Gifts for Peace?
To place an order, please call 1800 025 101 or click here to order online.

5. Can I have it sent directly to someone else?
If you place an order online, we are only able to send the card to the person ordering the card. However, if you call us on 1800 025 101, we will be able to send the card directly to someone else on your behalf. However, if you receive the gift yourself you can pass it on with your own personal message!

6. Where does my money go?
When your purchase a Gift for Peace, at least 80 per cent of the money will go directly to the program, as indicated in question 2. The rest goes towards our costs including postage and administration. If you would like to give an extra donation towards postage when purchasing your gift, please include it in the box indicated when filling in the order form. If you are ordering by phone, please just let us know! All contributions, no matter how big or small, are appreciated.

7. Is it tax deductible?
Yes. As the gift is a tax deductible donation to Act for Peace, you will receive a receipt in your name. The receipt cannot be made in the name of the person receiving the gift.
